I ran into very few errors and it might be argued that the few I did find were not errors. For example, VB programmers won't be interested in this holdover from the C# version, "You can even configure ... Visual Studio ... brace styles ..." "Brace styles?" To paraphrase "The Treasure of Sierra Madre", "VB programmers don't need no steenking brace styles." We might have appreciated a few words about the "VB Specific" Visual Studio options, however!

By special permission from Apress, you can read the complete Chapter 1, "Introducing ASP.NET" here at About Visual Basic. (You'll need the Acrobat PDF reader.) If you're relatively new to ASP.NET, you won't find a better explanation of what it's all about.

Laurence Moroney work has focused on Web technologies and has also written about J2EE. We welcome him to .NET as he turns away from the dark side.
