The Students.mdb database that our book uses in Chapter 20 is actually one of several that were distributed by Microsoft with Access 97. So there's a lot more to it than just the table is used in the book. If you have Access available to you, it's worthwhile to open it up and see what else is there.
All of the tables shown in the illustration are included in the Students.mdb database. As we'll see in the example below, the database can also store other information, such as queries (which translate into views in this example).
Access 97 was a great version, in part because Microsoft released a lot of supporting technology along with it. If you want a fairly sophisticated starting point for a wide variety of applications, you can get them in the form of Access 97 sample databases. And, as you can see from this class, they upgrade to .NET without a lot of difficulty.
