Add a little color to your programming!

Edit Names

Anyone who has used one of the graphics editing programs has seen a color selection grid that probably looks a little like this one. VB.NET incorporates one into the ColorDialog object by default so you can pick your own colors.

But taking full advantage of colors in VB.NET (I think I've said this before) has changed a lot from the days of VB 6.

Timesaving Tip:

The book tells you how to change the names of the menu items using the Properties window. In many cases, this is the easy and obvious way to do it. But when you're entering several menu items at once (as we are here), it's often easier to simply right click the menu to open the context menu for the MainMenu component and turn on the Edit Names mode. This lets you enter your custom object names directly. This illustration shows you how.
