Buying a Wrox Press book is more like joining a fraternity than just buying a book. And their "Beginning" level book for VB.NET is certainly no exception. You get a great, from-the-ground-up introduction to the mysteries of the all new .NET version of VB, but you also get a continuing dialog with the authors and all the other readers of the book. Such a deal! |

And the book isn't bad either! The Second Edition gets top ratings from nearly everyone (much improved from the First Edition) and deserves them! Everything that a real beginner would need is covered from initial installation to a thorough reference for the language. People with previous programming experience will find many of the chapters tedious and elementary. People without experience will think they're just great! Applications: ADO.NET Matthew Reynolds, the editor, is an in-house author for Wrox Press who specializes in Microsoft .NET. This is only the latest of about several dozen books that he has participated in writing, so you're getting an experienced professional. |
