The VB-FAQ Best of the Net This FAQ is created and maintained by a set of volunteers (who are listed on one of the pages). The great thing about this one is the organization, however. Individual categories of FAQ's are available, and a specialized search engine for this site, all VB sites, and MSDN are incorporated. VBnet FAQ (note: not VB.NET!) A really great FAQ - well organized, clear and informative even though it's not comprehensive. In spite of what you might this, this FAQ is not focused on Microsoft's VB.NET. The owner explains that he has been using the name longer than Microsoft!
Microsoft Visual Basic FAQ Since Microsoft is where it all begins, this is the 'authoritative' FAQ for Visual Basic. As an FAQ, however, some of the independent efforts are better. If you're looking for answers from Microsoft, you're probably better off simply using the MSDN 'search' feature: http://msdn.microsoft.com - then click 'search' in the menu at the top. Newsgroup FAQ from comp.lang.basic.visual newsgroup You can't do much better than this as a pure FAQ. Short on eye catching graphics and long on information, this FAQ is better maintained and better organized than just about anything else you're going to find on the net. The only shortcoming is that you're going to find information about newsgroups as well as Visual Basic. The page is also occasionally unavailable. Microsoft VB.NET FAQ The 'general' FAQ for Microsoft doesn't link directly to .NET topics. This one does. It's also easier and simpler to use. Give this one a try for your .NET questions! Microsoft .NET Framework FAQ To understand VB.NET, you've got to understand the Microsoft .NET Framework too. Here's an FAQ that tells you all the buzzwords and TLA's (Three Letter Acronyms) and answers questions about the concepts too. Microsoft Technical FAQ This FAQ from Microsoft is very similar to the VB.NET FAQ above. It's easy to use and gives you direct, but not always clear, answers. It's a recommended FAQ anyway! Visual Basic Explorer FAQ Center Good looking site with good information. This site is a compilation of information collected from their main page and is heavy on code samples and 'how to' entries. There are no guarantees that what you're looking for is on this page, but the information that is there is good stuff! Absolute Visual Basic FAQ More than just a FAQ, this site has subsections that deal with multiple versions of VB and even multiple languages. Clearly a labor of love, entering this site is like walking into an international cocktail party. It's sometimes a little disorganized, but always interesting. Beginners VB FAQ A useful volunteer effort brought to you by "VISBAS-BEGINNERS at LSOFT" (LSoft makes list server software ... not really directly related to VB). The organization could be improved, but there's great information here if you dig for it.
